Flue Gas Cleaning

Babcock Noell is the environmental knowledge centre for Bilfinger Berger Power Services GmbH focusing
on essential combustion processes in fossil-fueled power stations, waste to energy plants and production processes.

We offer flue gas cleaning solutions for SO2, SO3, NOx, HCl, HF, dust and other relevant pollutants.

In addition, we are a successful supplier of optimizations for existing facilities such as tray retrofittings or materials reconstruction.

Our product range in the area of flue gas desulphurization includes a highly efficient single-loop process with a tray, the established double-loop process, and the spray absorption process. For denitrification of flue gases, we offer the selective catalytic reduction process (SCR).

In-house, we handle complete project planning and processing of flue gas treatment equipment for power stations, waste to energy plants and for other combustion and production processes.

By taking on and joining with an array of experts through our predecessor company Noell-KRC Energy and Environmental Technology, we have been able to secure the practice-based and constructive experience that has been gained over 25 years in the field of flue gas cleaning.

We offer innovative and well-proven technology for a clean environment. This way we are able to provide you with the right technological and economical solution for your individual situation.

Our scope of supply includes feasibility studies, design, engineering, construction, installation and commissioning for:

  • flue gas desulphurization units and dedusting systems for power plants;

  • flue gas cleaning system for waste to energy plants;

  • packed bed filter facilities for industrial applications;

  • denitrification for factories, waste to energy plants, refineries, etc.;

  • replacement and revision of flue gas cleaning facilities;

  • retrofitting of tray perforated plates in wet scrubbers to improve the SO2 / SO3 and dust removal;

  • engineering services such as CFD studies, energy optimizations;

  • investigations and studies regarding retrofitting and optimization of flue gas cleaning facilities
